Christina Aguilera has revealed that her first year of
marriage has been a lot harder than she anticipated.
The singer married Jordan Bratman nearly a year ago, but
admits her surprise at the troubles involved in the relationship.
She said: "I think it is hard. You're surprised and
disappointed by certain things in your first year. I think
the biggest misconception is that everything is going to
be perfect and nothing will go wrong. But we have a strong
bond. I'm prepared to grow old with this man. We look forward
to the ups and downs."
However, the artist was full of praise for her husband
and the help he has given her over the past four and a half
year. In thanks, she has dedicated a song from her new album
to him: "He's helped me heal a lot," she continued.
"The song really just means having that one person
in your life who's able to pick you up and pull you out
when you get in those dark spaces in yourself and are dwelling
on the negative. They get you to look at all the bright
and beautiful things around you."
